What is salvation?

  • It is a free gift from God.
  • It is to save and deliver  us from our sins.
  • It is to save and redeem us for eternity.
  • It is an ongoing process to become Christ-like.
  • It is not dependant on good works or anything that we have to offer God.

Why do I need to be saved?

  • You and I are born as sinners - since the time of Adam and Eve.
  • The penalty of sin is natural death and eternal separation from God.
  • "If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us," 1John 1:8.

What must I do to be saved?

  • Realize that you are a sinner and need a saviour, "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and justified freely by His grace through redemption," Romans 3:23-24.
  • Repent - "Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out...," Acts 3:19.
  • Receive - "Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God," John 1:12.

What are the benefits of salvation?

  • Restored fellowship with God.
  • Resurrected life in Christ Jesus.
  • Redemption from your sins.
  • Restored relationship with God for eternity.

What happens after I am saved?

  • You are no longer a sinner but a redeemed creation, Colossians 1:14.
  • You are free from condemnation, Romans 8:1.
  • You are the salt and light of the earth, Matthew 5:13-14.
  • You are seated with Christ in the heavenly realm, Ephesians 2:6.
  • You may approach God with freedom & confidence, Ephesians 3:12.

How to maintain my salvation when I sin?

  • Confess your sin : "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness," 1 John 1:9.
  • Forsake your sin : Let the wicked forsake his ways and the evil man his thoughts. Let him turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on him, and to our God, for he will freely pardon," Isaiah 55:7.
  • Receive forgiveness: "For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more," Jermiah 31:34, Hebrew 8:12.
  • Be continuously washed in the blood.....

The song being played in the background is:  "Washed in the blood" by Kelly Willard.
